Information pertaining to your soldier

There are a few apps that aid in keeping in

contact with your soldier. Here is a list:

• Sandboxx
• USPS – informed delivery
• Facebook
• Basictrainingphotos.com

https://www.basictrainingphotos.com/
Sandboxx App

The Sandboxx app was designed by a

veteran. It is an app that allows for you to
mail letters via FedEx. Your soldier receives
their letter along with paper and a self
addressed envelope. They only need to
write, stamp, and send. There are bundles
available.

Downside: Letters are $3.99 to mail, and

bundles can be pricey. If there is room in
your budget this may be a hassle free
option for you and your soldier.
USPS App

With the USPS app, you can:

• Track
• Informed delivery
• Buy stamps
• Obtain prices
• Click-N-Ship
• Find locations
• Zip codes
• Schedule Pickup
• Hold Mail
• Change My Address

With informed delivery, you can see what is

coming in the mail before you get it. With
this app you can know a letter is arriving
before you walk out to the mailbox or arrive
at the post office.
Facebook App

If you do not have a Facebook account,

this may be the time to sign-up. It seems
the Army has gotten on board with social
media. There are Facebook pages for
bases, companies, and support groups.
Keep in mind, OPSEC is top priority, so
some groups are private. To join, you must
answer a series of questions. Once
accepted, there are rules and guidelines
to follow.
*NOTE* Drill Sergeants follow those pages.
Facebook is not the place to trash talk. Your
soldier will pay for your opinion.
Basic Training Photos

Yes, there are photos during basic training.

These are not to be confused with the
uniform photos taken during reception
week.

The photos posted on

basictrainingphotos.com are candid shots
taken by a contract photographer during
training.

You can view for free. There are a few

upgrade opportunities that I recommend.
For $3.99, you have access to high https://www.basictrainingphotos.com/
resolution photos. For $19.99, you can
download and post photos.
These options allow friends and family to stay connected
while waiting for letters to arrive.

I hope that you find some, if not all, useful. Please share any
that you discover with the rest of us.
