GUI Problem

Deflection of simple buildings

Introduction
What is the problem about?
Introduction
Introduction
The problem investigated in this project is the determination of
displacements of each level of a simple building represented by a
single degree of freedom system during an earthquake. Solving
the problem consists of a combination of Rayleigh’s method and
Response Spectrum Analysis. Rayleigh’s Method enables the
approximation of the Spatial Shape Function ϕ(x) as well as the
fundamental period of vibration (T) of a simple building.
Response Spectrum Analysis, on the other hand, allows the
approximation the Base Shear, Overturning Moment, and
Displacements per floor.
