EXTRUSION:

Extrusion is defined as the process of shaping material, such as aluminum, by forcing it

to flow through a shaped opening in a die. Extruded material emerges as an elongated
piece with the same profile as the die opening.

Aluminum extrusion is a technique used to transform aluminum alloy into objects with a
definitive cross-sectional profile for a wide range of uses. The extrusion process makes
the most of aluminum’s unique combination of physical characteristics. Its malleability
allows it to be easily machined and cast, and yet aluminum is one third the density and
stiffness of steel so the resulting products offer strength and stability, particularly when
alloyed with other metals.

CASTING:
Casting is a manufacturing process in which a liquid material is usually poured into a
mold, which contains a hollow cavity of the desired shape, and then allowed to
solidify. The solidified part is also known as a casting, which is ejected or broken out of
the mold to complete the process.
Die casting is a metal casting process that is characterized by forcing molten metal
under high pressure into a mold cavity.
SHEET BASED:
Sheet metal is metal formed by an industrial process into thin, flat pieces. Sheet metal is
one of the fundamental forms used in metalworking and it can be cut and bent into a
variety of shapes. ... Gauge differs between ferrous (iron based) metals and nonferrous
metals such as aluminum or copper.
Aluminum sheet is any aluminum sheet metal thicker than foil but thinner than 6mm; it
comes in many forms including diamond plate, expanded, perforated and
painted aluminum sheet. Aluminum plate is any aluminum sheet metal that is thicker
than 6mm.

FOIL BASED:
Aluminium foil (or aluminum foil), often referred to with the misnomer tin foil, is
aluminium prepared in thin metal leaves with a thickness less than 0.2 mm (7.9 mils);
thinner gauges down to 6 micrometres (0.24 mils) are also commonly used.

To avoid breakage because of the thinness, the foil is doubled in the cold rolling mill and
the rolled to the desired thickness. Aluminum foil provides a complete barrier to light,
oxygen, moisture and bacteria. For this reason, foil is used extensively in food and
pharmaceutical packaging.
