Definition: The Bt is a short form of ubiquitous soil bacterioum Bacillus thuringiensis. This cotton
refers to transgenic cotton which contains endotoxin protein inducing gene . Bt cotton is a genetically
modified organism (GMO) or genetically modified pest resistant plant cotton variety, which produces
an insecticide to combat bollworm.
