INTRODUCTION
• 4G is ruling the world of mobile communication.

• With growing demand in high data speed and increase in

number of subscriber estimated to be increased by 30% in
2020.
• Therefore the present technology like 3G, 4G cannot
support.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
• The coverage area of 4G is limited to smaller area.

• Planar Inverted F Antenna (PIFA), which is used in 4G mobiles has complex

structure and narrow bandwidth.

SOLUTION
• In order to increase the speed, capacity and to improve the latency, 5G
technology is used as a solution.

• As a solution to design complexity and narrow bandwidth of PIFA, a

different structure of antenna called Linearly Tapered Slot-line Antenna
(LTSA) is used.

What is LTSA?

• A key component of any radar sensor is the antenna.

• Among different types of antennas the linear tapered slot antenna (LTSA) is
a wideband antenna that has the advantages of small size, design simplicity
and high gain.
Why LTSA?

• Narrow beamwidth.
• Less loss.
• High gain.
• Small size.
• Design simplicity.
METHODOLOGY

• A single element LTSA antenna will be designed

at sub-6 GHz for wide-bandwidth.
• LTSA( Linear Tapered Slot-line Antenna) will
be designed as it can easily be integrated with
other MIC(Micro Integrated Circuit)
components.
• Array for 2*2 element will be analyzed and designed to realize high gain for
5G application.
• Simulation using HFSS tool.
Frequency : 3.5GHz
Thickness : 5.3mm
Substrate : FR4-Epoxy
Dielectric constant : 4.4
CONCLUSION
• Radiation Characteristics suitable for 3.5GHZ can be achieved.
• High front to back ratio can be achieved.
• From the result it is proved that tapered slot antenna is radiating from tapered
length, hence it is an end fire antenna.
