Paper)is an essay that requires a


writer to think critically and craft a
persuasive argument supported by
well-researched evidence.
A position paper is an essay that presents
an arguable opinion about an issue –
typically that of the author or some specified
entity. Position papers are published in
academia, in politics, in law and other
domains.

Each paragraph should present an idea or main concept

supported by evidence or facts. Evidences should lead,
through inductive reasoning, to the main concept or idea of
the paragraph.

Summarize the main concepts and reinforce, without
repeating. Include suggested courses of action and possible
solutions.

The goal of a position paper is to convince
the audience that the opinion presented is
valid and worth listening to. Ideas

need to be carefully examined when choosing
a topic, developing an argument, and
organizing the paper.
