DEPOSITION

Deposition
• Deposition is the constructive
process of accumulation into beds or
irregular masses of loose sediment or
other rock material by any natural
agent.
Deposition
• When particles carried by water, ice, or wind are
deposited (dropped) in another location.
• Is the geological process by which sediments,
soil, and rocks are added to a land form or land
mass.
• Deposition occurs when the forces responsible
for sediment transportation are no longer
sufficient to overcome the force of particle
weight and friction, creating a resistance to
motion, this is known as the null-point
hypothesis.
EXAMPLES OF
DEPOSITION
• The sand on the beach being
carried by the wind into sand
dunes.
• River water carrying the
rocks and later leaving
them somewhere else.
• Last one by human when we
carry sand to a different
location with a truck and take it
to a new location.
