INTRODUCTION

Hybrid systems, as the name implies , combine

two or more modes of electricity generation
together usually using renewable tecnologies
.Hybrid system provide a high level of energy
security through the mix of generation methods.
HYBRIDISATION

Type of Hybridisation:
 Solar-wind Hybrid power
 Solar-diesel Hybrid power
 Wind-Hydro Hybrid power
 Wind-diesel Hybrid power
Need of Hybridiasation:
 For increasing output
 For full filling demand of consumer
 Providing uninterupted power supply
OBJECTIVES

 To study of the hybrid wind-solar power plant.

 To design and cunstruction of a wind-solar
hybrid power generation system.
 To display electrical poweroutput
using a LED lighting system.
SOLAR ENERGY

 Sun rays converted into electrical energy.

 Solar energy is available through the whole year.
Advantages of solar energy

 It is an inexaustable source of energy.

 Low power generation cost.
 Low maintenance cost.
 Free from pollution.
WIND ENERGY

 Wind turns the turbine blades.

 Spinning the shaft Converts wind energy into electrical energy.
Advantages of wind energy

 Lower operation and maitenance cost.

 No conventional fuel required.
 Technically simpler.
 Environmental friendly.
METHODOLOGY

 Solar panel or photovoltaic cells has absorbed sun beam by

radiation and gives electric energy output.
 Solar panels are the medium to convert solar power into
electrical power.
 A wind turbine obtains its power input by converting the force of
the wind into torque acting on the rotor .
 The amount of energy which the wind transfers to the rotor
depends on the density of the air, the rotor area, and the wind
speed.
METHODOLOGY

 Both system (solar & wind) has produced DC power.

 The both electric power has stored in battery
by battery charger.
 Both power has controlled by inverter (AC/DC) and
supply to the lighting system.

principle
Battery charger

Solar charger specifications:

 Solar panel rating:20w (12v) or 10w (6v)
 Volt range : 5 to 14v
 Maximum power dissippation: 10w
 Typical drop out value:2 to 222222.75v
 Max current: 1.5A (internally it limited to 2.2A)
 Voltage reggulation:+/- 100mv
Battery

 The storage battery or secondary battery is such battery where

electrical energy can be stored as chemical energy and this
chemical energy is then converted to electrical energy as when
required.
