Identity and Structure

1-butanol
Summary: The IR spectra indicated the presence of an OH group and CH (alkane) groups. The C-NMR
showed that there were four different types of carbon groups, one CH3 and three CH2 groups. The H-
NMR confirmed this and revealed that the carbon groups were arranged in a chain with the OH group
on one end.
