ISSUE INDENTIFICATION
Why this project?
As Kerala has rapid development in the field of educational sector and literacy rate,
it is necessary to bring importance to its mother language and to encourage studies
among Keralites.
Aim
To develop a center for studies and research to serve education for
students and researchers which provides vast research possibilities in
Malayalam language.
Objective
• Detailed study of Malayalam language and its importance.
• Study about the programs can be implemented concerning mother tongue.
• Study on Imparting education at the post graduate level on Malayalam
literature, social science through Malayalam medium, Malayalam language.
• study on Kerala’s heritage, traditional knowledge system, cultural
anthropology and media studies with modern technical knowledge.
• Study on the functioning and basic requirements of the campus.
• Study on the spaces that meets functional requirements as well as
interesting studying environments.
Existing university campus at vakkad, Tirur was
established in 2012 by govt of India to promote
the language, history, culture ,heritage, and
lifestyle of Kerala.

Site

7.67 acres - Existing site of university campus is

vakkad, Tirur, Malappuram district. And it is
proposed to another site.
Feasibility

• Thunjath ezhuthachan was a Malayalam devotional poet who is

known as the father of modern Malayalam language. Malayalam
is the principal language of kerala and union territory of Lakshadweep
and its literature.
• Ezhuthachan was born in trikkandiyuoor,near the present day tirur
municipality, Malappuram district.
• And also, Malappuram has a literacy rate of 96.46% higher than the
national average literacy rate. And also, Malappuram is the most
populous district of Kerala state.
