WHAT IS CHOTUKOOL?

Godrej put in efforts to make a project that would serve

customers in rural areas in making an affordable and
fulfilling the necessity refrigerator. The working of the
ChotuKool is based on a thermoelectric chip that
maintains a cool temperature on a 12-volt DC current—
and can plug into a car battery or be left unplugged for
hours. The unconventional opening ensures cold air
settles down in the cabinet to minimize air loss. It is
priced at less than half that of an entry level refrigerator,
at just $69.

HOW DOES THE CHOTUKOOL WORK?

• It works on the principle of thermoelectric effect or Peltier effect.

• It consists of an array of elements soldered between two ceramic
plates thermally in parallel
• Material of Semi Conductor: Bismuth Telluride both p and n type
• Cooling effect is directly proportional to number of thermoelectric
coolers used
• Cooling occurs when current passes through one or more elements
from n to p type causing absorption of heat from the environment.
• Heat is carried by electron transport and is released on opposite side
as electron moves from higher to lower state.
• Q=P x I x t, where P is the Peltier Coefficient

GODREJ MEDICAL REFRIGERATORS
Guaranteed never to freeze, the Godrej medical
refrigertaors follows the patented SureChill Technology. It
doesn’t need a constant power source and maintains its
contents at a constant temperature of 4C for upto 10
days.
It has a unique technology that limits temperature
difference in the cabinet to lesss than 1C, which
minimizes thermal shock.
HOW DOES IT WORK?

Water surrounds a Sure Chill refrigeration compartment.

When it has power, the water cools and forms ice above
the compartment leaving only water at four degrees
cooling the contents. When the power is switched off,
the water warms and rises while the ice begins to melt,
keeping only four-degree water cooling the contents of
the compartment. So it has its own internal and entirely
natural energy store that maintains a completely steady
temperature. The system can operate like this, without
power, for days and weeks.
