REVIEW (How To Use The Steps To Victory)

practical review of the steps to
victory and how to use the steps.
Genuine or Imitation?

Victory Step 1:
Kinds of Soil (Mark 4)

 If you are a true Christian and a true disciple, you

have something in you that will surely assure of
victory.
 1 JOHN 5:18-20
We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the One
who has born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm
them. We know that we are children of God, and that the whole
world is under the control of evil one. We know also that the son of
God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may
know him who is true. And we are in him who is true by being in his
son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
2 Peter 1:10-11

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm

your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never
stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal
kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Food Or Poison?

Victory Step 2:
Traps of Satan (Genesis 3)

 Enables you to experience victory by making you discern

when the enemy is working and to discern when the enemy is
working and to discern the poison inside the sugar-coated pill
that he is giving to you.
2 Cor. 11:13-15

For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers,

masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for
Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not
surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of
righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.
 This verse he strips off the façade that these false teachers were
trying to hide behind. He says, ‘’They’re impostors, masquerading as
apostles of Christ but they were not sent by Christ and they’re not
teaching what Christ said to teach’’.

 They’re teaching attractive lies instead of truth.

The Word Or the World?

Victory Step 3
Christ and God’s Word (Matthew 4)

 Providing you with the Word of God, which exposes and

defeats all the temptations which Satan uses through the
world.
Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any
double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and
spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of
the heart.
New or Old?

Victory Step 4:
Actions to Victory (Romans 5-6)

 Showing you that an absolute separation had already been

placed between your old life and your new life.
 Ephesians 4:22-24

 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put
 

off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to
be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new
self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
 To put off the old self and put on the new self in Christ likeness.
Colossians 3:1-4

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on
things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set
your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and
your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life,
appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
 Paul reminds us of how our Christian lives on earth began, and how they
will end. But his main concern in the middle. Between the beginning and
the end, must continue in Christ.
King Or Slave?

Victory step 5:
Authority, armor and power (Ephesians 6)

 Showing us that in union with Christ we are already seated

with Him at the right hand of the Father, and that victory is not
something we still need to obtain; rather, victory is something
Christ already won and which we may now fully enjoy in union
with Christ.
Romans 5:7

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good
person someone might possibly dare to die.
 To show that Christ’s dying for ungodly persons is an instance of
kindness that is matchless and unparalleled.
 Romans 8:35-39

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or
persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
“For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I
am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demon, neither the
present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in
all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our
Lord.
 Nothing can separate us from the LOVE of Christ.

 We are conquerors and victorious because we are Christians.

God’s Will Or Mine?

Victory step 6:
knowing and doing God’s (Romans 8-12)

 Enabling us to be and to do all that God plans for us to be and

to do. When we do God’s will we are not only casting out
Satan and his works; we are also bringing Christ and His
kingdom into the world.
Ephesians 5:15-17

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as

wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days
are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the
Lord’s will is.

 Walking wisely
Romans 12:1-2

 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s

mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and
pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not
conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and
approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect
will.
 As a children of God we must offer our bodies as living sacrifices, holy, and
pleasing to God. Be an example in this world

What things do you need to do, and in what ways do you
need to grow in order to become the complete victorious
disciple?
