Job role

– Assist fellow workers in the kitchen.


– Clean around the kitchen for hygiene purposes.
– Clean up dishes after customer use so that they can be ready for use again.
– Keep shelves stocked so that the kitchen doesn’t run out recipes or materials
needed for the children to eat.
– Make sure the kitchen is clear of any infants to avoid any accidents as infants tend to
mess around with anything new they see.
– Sorting, storing and having ingredients ready.
– Cooking foodstuffs for the infants at their lunch times and preparing snacks when it
comes to their short breaks.
Health and safety

– Always wash hands to avoid infants from getting ill from the nursery foods.
– Wear a hair net so that no loose hair falls in the infants food while making it.
– Must know basic health and safety rules in the kitchen.
– Must be able to cook properly to avoid giving food poisoning to the infants.
