History of Bajaj motors

Bajaj auto limited is a global two-wheeler and three-wheeler


manufacturing company based in India. It manufactures
motorcycles, scooters and auto rickshaws. Bajaj auto is a part of the
Bajaj group. It was founded by Jamnalal Bajaj in Rajasthan in
Rajasthan in the 1940s. It is based in Pune, Maharashtra, with plants
in Chakan(Pune), Waluj (near Aurangabad) and Pantnagar in
Uttarakhand.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a business approach that


contributes to sustainable development by delivering economic,
social and environmental benefits for all stakeholders. CSR is a
concept with many definitions and practices. The way it is
understood and implemented differs greatly for each company and
country. Moreover, CSR is a very broad concept that addresses many
and various topics such as human rights, corporate governance,
health and safety, environmental effects, working conditions and
contribution to economic development. Whatever the definition is,
the purpose of CSR is to drive change towards sustainability.

Policy
Tata Motors Limited (TML), one of India’s largest automobile
company, facing challenges in financial and operation performances,
has spent Rs. 25.94 crores towards various schemes of CSR as
prescribed under Section 135 of the Act.
“ The prescribed CSR expenditure required to be spend in Fiscal
2017 as per the Act is Nil, in view of net profit of the company
being negative under Section 198 of the Act.”

SWOT Analysis

 STRENGTHS
 Post liberalization, in order to expand rapidly, the company adopted the route to joint
 ventures (JV):
 · 21% stake in Hispano Carrocera, a Spanish bus manufacturing company and
 introducing its high-end inter-city buses in the country.
 · Acquisition of Jaguar and Land Rover of UK, help complete its portfolio in the
 premium segment
 · A 70% JV with Thailand’s Thonburi (auto assembler) which will set up a plant to
 manufacture pick-ups and will sell them in Thailand.
