 Badswat and Bilhanz villages situated in Immit, Ghizer


district, GB
 3 August 2018 GLOF event occurred and hit two villages
 Due to GLOF again new lake formed with an area of 0.45
km2 (area…900 kanal land)
 Submerged three villages completely and one partially
 Loss of homes, road, infrastructure and agriculture land
 10 villages was blocked from the rest of the Immit Valley.

 Submission of PC1 entitled “Establishment of Center for
climate change and Glacier studies at KIU” (Worth PKR 600
million) to CPEC center Higher education commission of
Pakistan
 Establishment of Glacier monitor stations (14 in no)
 Three wings: (1) Climate change studies, (2) Glacial
studies, (3) Natural resources management

 Establishment of GIS and remote sensing lab at KIU in
