Literature Review Themes
- Mentorship is key: Mentorship has the ability to empower students
to realize their potential for success, and celebrate the
cultural wealth they have to offer.
- Familial capital is a vital resource, and one that is largely untapped: Family
members feel comfortable in their role as emotional/personal
support network, but their input and understanding is not
often considered in their student’s college preparatory
development.
