Introduction
Degradation of the environment and natural resources is not only caused by weak economic
development, but it can also be generated by excessive economic development. For example,
projects like dams and roads require the relocation of population, affecting economic activities
and also creating stress to animals and plants around the zone. Furthermore, increasing
population pressure and industrialization generates serious problems related to water, soil and
other natural resources. These problems cannot be separated from the intervention and have to
be taken into account in the development plan as economic development, social wellness, and
environmental quality should be the pillars of development projects.
• Sustainability development

Environmental governance advocates sustainability as the supreme consideration

in managing all human activities – political, social and economic. The concept of
sustainability relies on sustainable development. Sustainable development can be
explained in various ways, but the most widely recognized definition was phrased
by the Brundtland Commission in 1987:
“Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present
without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”
Sustainable development is based on the three pillars of sustainability:

Economic Social

Environmental
• Social economic
Socioeconomics (also known as social economics) is the social science that studies
how economic activities affects and is shaped by social processes. In general it
analyzes how societies progress, stagnate, or regress because of their local or
regional economy, or the global economy. Societies are divided into two groups:
social,and economic.
“Socioeconomics” is sometimes used as an umbrella term for various areas of
inquiry. The term “social economics” may refer broadly to the "use of economics in
the study of society".
More narrowly, contemporary practice considers behavioral interactions of
individuals and groups through social capital and social "markets" (not excluding,
for example, sorting by marriage) and the formation of social norms.
• Socioeconomic development
Socio-economic development is the process of social and economic development
in a society. Socio-economic. development .is. measured. with indicators, such as
GDP, life expectancy, literacy and levels of employment. Changes in less-tangible
factors are also considered, such as personal dignity, freedom of association,
personal safety and freedom from fear of physical harm, and the extent of
participation in civil society. Causes of socio-economic impacts are, for example,
new technologies, changes in laws, changes in the physical environment and
ecological changes.
• Environment impacts of socio economic development
The issue of the environment has become of concern to everyone either individuals or
groups to what It has repercussions on all living things including human being,
Everyone have met on one opinion that the Cause of its deterioration It is the human
being through the policies pursued by him.

• Deterioration of the non renewable resourses like gaz ,oil
• Loss of fishing stocks – due to overfishing
• Loss of species diversity – damage
to natural resources has led to species extinction.
Conclusion
Economic, social and environmental change is inherent to development.
Whilst development aims to bring about positive change it can lead to
conflicts. In the past, the promotion of economic growth as the motor for
increased well-being was the main development thrust with little sensitivity
to adverse social or environmental impacts. The need to avoid adverse
impacts and to ensure long term benefits led to the concept of
sustainability. This has become accepted as an essential feature of
development if the aim of increased well-being and greater equity in
fulfilling basic needs is to be met for this and future generations.
