NASAL CAVITY
• The anterior
apertures of the nasal
cavities are nares,

• The posterior
apertures are the
choana

4.lateral wall
Roof
Formed by :
1. nasal and frontal
bones,
2. cribriform plate
of the ethmoid
bone
3. posteriorly
sphenoid Bone.
Floor
• hard palate.
Medial Wall
• Nasal septum
osseocartilagenous
partition,separates
nasal cavities .

• Bony part

• Cartilaginous part
Lateral Wall
Features Of Lateral Wall
1. Ant. Part – Vestibule

2. Middle part – atrium

3. Post. Part – Conchae (turbinates)

Features Of Lateral Wall
LATERAL WALL OF NASAL CAVITY

1. Superior concha.
2. Middle concha.
3. Inferior concha.

* The space below each of

these conchae is called
nasal meatus.
Features of the middle meatus:
• presents a rounded
eminence called
bulla ethmoidalis

• which is bounded in
front and below by a
curved groove called
hiatus semilunaris.
