 CREATING NEW FILE/PROJECT

 Click File then New, or simply hold Ctrl+N

keyboard shortcut.
 A dialog box will appear, it has the name of
the document, image size, and its
contents.
 CREATING NEW FILE/PROJECT

*RESOLUTION – refers to the number of

pixels in a full image size.
TIP: 150 for images to be printed and 72 for graphics to
be viewed only on screen

*IMAGE SIZE – deals with the actual number

of pixels tall and wide an image is.

*COLOR MODE – refers to the types of color

you will be using in your image
TIP: CYMK for images to be printed and RGB for
graphics to be viewed only on screen

LAYERS
 LAYERS
- Single transparent sheets which hold particular pieces
of an image.
- Contain images, text and vector graphics, and can be
rearranged and grouped

LAYER STYLE
 LAYER STYLES
DROP SHADOW – adds a shadow that falls behind the contents
on the layer
INNER SHADOW – adds a shadow that falls just inside the
edges of the layer’s content, giving the layer a recessed
appearance
OUTER GLOW AND INNER GLOW – add glows that emanate
from the outside or inside edges of the layer’s content
BEVEL AND EMBOSS – add various combinations of highlights
and shadows to a layer
 LAYER STYLES
SATIN – applies interior shading that creates a sanity
finish
COLOR, GRADIENT & PATTERN OVERLAY – fills the
layer’s content with a color, gradient, or pattern.
STROKE – outlines the object on the current using a
color, a gradient, or a pattern. It is particularly useful on
hard-edged shapes such as type.
