FIRE ALARM SYSTEMS

• Alarm can be visual,audio or combined type and their operation may be automatic and
manual.In automatic type ,alarm is given by triggering action caused by the fire
detector of any type.In manual type alarm circuit is triggered by pushing a press
button or breaking the glass seal of manually operated call point or pill box.There are
five categories of alarm system.They are
1. Manually Operated Electric fire alarm system (MOEFA)
2. Automatic Fire Alarm system using heat sensitive detector of Fusible Link( AFAS-FL)or
bimetallic or Pneumatic rate of rise type.
3. Automatic Fire Alarm system using heal sensitive detector of Thermistor type(AFAS-
Th)
4. Automatic fire alarm with smoke detectors(AFAS.SM)
5. Automatic fire detection,alarm and fighting system with CO2/Halon
