SDH/SONET Tributary Loss of Multifr
ame
1. Fault description: Physical links or TX/RX power are normal, b
ut all of E1 ports are in DOWN status.

2. Root cause: Frame structures are not matched with peer device

3. Solution: Modify the correct frame structure by command SET E1

T1 with parameter E1_DOUBLE_FRAME or E1_CRC4_MULTI_FRA

Silent or Noise Calls

1. Fault description: When engineer perform first call tests, the

re are also many calls which occur silent or n
oise calls.

2. Root cause:  the sequence of tributaries in an SDH frame is no

t matched due to different vendors’ standard.
OR the quality of transmission is bad.

3. Solution: Modify the  tributary numbering by command SET OPT

with parameter ALCATEL_MODE or LUCENT_MODE or HUAWEI_M

Wrong TX/RX Optical Connection

1. Fault description: The links belong to Optical connection type

are not UP.

2. Root cause:   There are some optical ports have TX power, but
don’t have RX power or vice versa.

3. Solution: Install Optical connection correctly, then check TX/
