Introduction
Brick
•Main materials in construction works
•5 types of bricks
•Every types of bricks has a different materials, characteristic
and specialties in construction works
Construction Wastage
•Unwanted material
•Some of materials need to discard and some of the materials
can be recycled
Our Product
•To innovate and compare the sand bricks
•Using tiles and mosaics from construction waste
•Have their own advantages
Problem
Problem statement

Statement
Brick
• Deficiencies in term of strength, fragility and mounting time
• Broken bricks, cracks and low tensile strength

Construction Waste
• Pollution
• Not properly managed by the responsible company
Objective ofof study
Objective Study

(a) To innovate and compare the

materials of sand bricks.
(b) To reduce the cost of the bricks by
recycle the wastage.
(c) To study the strength and durability
of the bricks.
Scope of study
Scope of Study

o USING BIG PART OF SAND o SIZE OF THE BRICK: 215MM X

65MM X 102.5MM
o TO REDUCE COST
o STRENGTH AND DURABILITY OF
o TO RECYCLE THE WASTAGE CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
o TO REDUCE THE PART OF o HIGHER THE RESISTANCE, THE
THE SAND IN BRICK MAKING HIGHER THE STRENGTH
o DECREASE THE WASTAGE OF
CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
Importance
Importance of study of Study

• Traditional ways to dispose the wastage by send it

to landfill
• Has been a problem to construction cost
• Need to occupies a large area of land to be a landfill
• Landfill • Reduce the soil quality and waste of natural
resources
• Air pollution and water pollution can happen

• Reduce cost by doing new kind of

products
• Recycle • Reduce the landfill
• Reduce construction cost
Design and produce
product:
• do it manually by hands
• size of the bricks is 215mm x
65mm x 102.5 mm
• Normal ratio is 1:8
• Our ratios is 1:6:2 and 1:5:3
• Mould made by pallet woods.
• Tiles and mosaics process is
cleaning, crushing and drying
• Size of the tiles fragment is 2.0
cm to 3.0 cm.
• The wastage we take from site
area in Selangor and Melaka

Product Testing

• 2 test has been done to

determine the strength and
durability of the brick.
• Water absorption test
• Compression test
• Compression Test has been
conducted in concrete laboratory
of Nattest Lab in Sungai Besi,
Kuala Lumpur
• Water absorption test has been
done by our self.

Conclusion:
our bricks does not exceed the standard set by
Malaysia Standards
it’s still has the strength of the bricks itself
first objectives, we have succeeded reduce the
cost of the bricks
second objectives, we have studied that our
bricks did not exceed the standard that has
been set by Malaysian Standards
Recommendation:

• Size of the crushed tiles must be smaller

than before which is 0.5 cm to 1.0 cm will be
great enough.

• Using a sand brick making machine because

it has a vibrator that can help the
compression process more uniform.
