Introduction to JK WallMaxx
• Wallmaxx is a white fine powdered substance that is
used to provide smooth base to the wall surface.
• It provides smooth damp finish.
• It is applied on the walls prior to priming and painting.
• For luxurious and silky interior / exterior finish
• Good Adhesion with Plastered wall (Cement to Cement
Adhesion)
• No Flaking and long life.
• Better glaze and lower consumption of paint compare to
traditional putty.
Packing Available

• It is available in the following packs:-

1 Kg
5 Kg
20 Kg
40 Kg
30 Kg ( Commercial Use)
Why Putty is essential
• It provides an ideal base for Painting
• It provides damp resistant smooth finish.
• It gives pleasing look to interiors & exteriors
• Can be used on concrete, hollow block, precast walls, concrete ceilings.
• As it is cement based putty, it has good binding property
• Very High Durability & Life
• High resistance to alkalies in water
• Gives an even and smooth canvas for the painters to paint on.
• It is water repellent. It prevents flaking in case of seepage.
• Becomes Integral part of Plaster.
• Eco Friendly Product.
Surface Preparation/ Mixing
New Surface
 Requires preparation such as removal of dust, dirt and foreign matter.
 Cracks, Voids & Damages Should be Repaired prior to putty application.

 Old Painted Surface

 Scrub the surface with wire brush / sand paper and clean thoroughly as shown so
that it is free from old paint / dust particles till the cementitious / plastered surface
is seen.
 After That wash the surface with water.
Surface Preparation/ Mixing

Area Near Skirting

 During grinding of skirting & Floor Slurry gets accumulated on the wall due to
which Putty does not stick to the wall.
 Leads to the chances of Flaking & Poor adhesion.
 Area at least up to one feet above the skirting should be cleaned with wire brush
and washed thoroughly so that slurry deposited on the wall during grinding is
totally removed.
Preparation of Wall Putty Paste

• Mix Wall Putty slowly in @ 35 -

40% water by volume to prepare
paste of desired consistency.

• Mix vigorously for 5-10 minutes for

making lump free and uniform
paste as shown. Mechanical Mixing

• Product should be mixed in such

quantities that it could be used
within 2-3 hrs of its preparation.

• Mixing could be done manually or

by Stirer
Manual Mixing
Applications of Wall Putty
 Ensure that surface is plastered OR made with cementitious material.
 Ensure that surface is totally clean.
 Ensure that surface is moderately rough (Neither too-rough nor too-smooth).
 Ensure that surface is just-wet. Overwetting resulting in accumulation of water on
surface should be avoided
 It is applied in 2 coats

Prewetting Before application

Applications of Wall Putty

 First coat Application of Wall Putty

• The paste should be applied with Putty Blade uniformly on the wall surface in
downward to upward direction to minimize losses.
• After the first coating allow the surface to dry for a minimum of three hours.
• When the first coat has dried, rub the surface gently with hand or soft cloth to
remove any loose particles
Application of Wall Putty
 Second coat Application of Wall putty
• Normally two coats are required to get the desired finish. Second coat is to
applies only after the first coat becomes dry.
• Try to limit the total thickness of coating to a maximum of 1.5-2.0mm.
• Wait for at least three days after drying then use fine emery/sand paper to
remove the application marks
• Apply second coat preferably after @ 4 hrs in hot Season & after @ 12 hrs in
cold season. Second coat shall be applied to even out application marks of
1st coat, if any
Coverage & Storage
 Coverage-:
• Maximum two coats (Layers) of J.K. Wall Putty.
• Maximum thickness of 1st coat (Layer) 1.5 mm.
• Maximum thickness of 2nd coat (Layer) 1.0 mm.
• Approx achievable coverage is 30 sqft./mm thickness /kg of J.K. wall Putty.
• However, actual coverage achieved depends on the base surface condition &
finished thickness.

 Storage-:
• Store JK Wall Putty in a dry place.
• Open bag just Before use
Precautions to be taken
• Although J. K. Wall Putty do not contain any toxic material, use rubber gloves while
mixing.
• Precaution should be taken to avoid dust inhalation while handling putty powder
or during removal of application marks with fine emery paper-say wearing nose
mask.
• Keep the product out of reach of children.
• Once putty paste has hardened, it shall not be used by adding water.

Features of JK Wall Putty
• Paint Can be applied on JK Wall Putty with or without Primer.

• Lustrous White and smooth surface can be left unpainted.

• Life of JK Wall Putty is as long as the life of Grey cement, as it becomes an integral
part of Plaster after application.

• It prevents growth of Algae & Fungus on Walls.

• Any Kind of Distemper can be applied on it directly.

• Textured finish Can be obtained by use of Texturing Tools

Benefits of Wall Putty
• Application of 2 coats of Wall Putty will even out the uneven plaster surface and
gives a smooth finish to final coats of Paint.
• It Integrates with the Plaster to create a stronger Bond with the paint to make it
last longer
• As Wall Putty is water resistant, it will save the paint from dampness.
• It Prevents flaking of Paints.
• It doesn’t require curing.
• It Gives a silky smooth finish to walls .
• Can be used both as an exterior wall Putty and Interior wall Putty

Problems & Its Remedies

 Chalking of Wall Putty

Cause-:
• Pre wetting is not done Properly
• Exceeds Pot Life of Wall Putty

Remedies-:
• Ensure proper Pre wetting of the
surface before application of Wall
Putty
• Wall Putty should be used within the Chalking of Wall Putty
Pot Life Period ( 2-2.5 Hrs)
• No Extra addition of water should be
done after exceeded Pot life period
 Efflorescence
Cause- :
•  It occurs due to the presence of water or
moisture in substrate of building materials
• Occurs due to presence of salts in the
Building material.

Remedies-:
• To prevent efflorescence, remove all
powdery substances and thoroughly clean
the surface.
• Ensure that the surface is moisture free,
clean and suitable for application of Wall Due to Efflorescence
Putty.
• Make sure joints and cavities are properly
sealed.
 De bonding of wall putty

Cause-:
• Thickness of wall Putty exceeds the
Maximum Thickness
• Improper surface Preparation ( cement
Paint, Moisture etc.) if any.

Remedies-:
• Maximum Thickness of wall Putty should
not be exceeded
• Ensure Proper Preparation of surface
before application of wall Putty. De bonding of Wall Putty from the
substrate
 Shrinkage/ Hair Line Cracks

Cause-:
• The movement of contraction and expansion
can cause hairline cracks to appear.
• Not letting cement plaster completely dry
before applying Wall Putty/ paint is actually
quite a common factor attributed to cracks.

Remedies-:
• Ensure Proper Curing of Cement at Plaster
Stage
• Fill The Cracks with some Filler and apply
Wall Putty/ paint over it.
• Before applying Putty or Paint, Make sure
Single Coat of White cement base Primer is Shrinkage/ Hair Line Cracks
applied over the Plaster surface
