WHAT IS AN INNOVATION HUB?
 An Innovation Hub is place which provides facilities to
nurture new ideas and help develop inquisitive
perspective in youths of today. These hubs serve as
springboards for new ideas and innovation and thus
helping the society and economy to face future
challenges and meet rising aspirations of the growing
population.

 Innovation hubs are social communities or work space 

or research centers that provide subject-matter
expertise on technology trends, knowledge and
strategic innovation management, and industry-
specific insights. These hubs enable active knowledge
transfer between researchers and business experts, on

HUB ?
Global Innovation Index :-
 The Global Innovation Index (GII) is
an annual ranking of countries by
their capacity for, and success
in, innovation, It is published
by Cornell University, INSEAD, and
the World Intellectual Property
Organization[WIPO], in partnership
with other organisations and
institutions, and is based on both
subjective and objective data derived
from several sources, including
the International Telecommunication
Union, the World Bank and the World
Economic Forum.
 The index was started in 2007 by
INSEAD and World Business, The GII
is commonly used by corporate and
government officials to compare
countries by their level of innovation.

Global Innovation Index :-
o GII FRAMEWORK :-
The Global Innovation Index (GII) is an evolving project that builds on its
previous editions while incorporating newly available data and that is
inspired by the latest research on the measurement of innovation. The GII
relies on two sub-indices—the Innovation Input Sub-Index and the
Innovation Output Sub-Index—each built around key pillars.
Five input pillars capture elements of the national economy that enable
innovative activities: (1) Institutions, (2) Human capital and research, (3)
Infrastructure, (4) Market sophistication, and (5) Business sophistication.
Two output pillars capture actual evidence of innovation outputs: (6)
Knowledge and technology outputs and (7) Creative outputs.
Each pillar is divided into sub-pillars and each sub-pillar is composed of
individual indicators (80 in total in 2019). Sub-pillar scores are calculated as
the weighted average of individual indicators; pillar scores are calculated as
the weighted average of sub-pillar scores.
Four measures are then calculated:
1. Innovation Input Sub-Index is the average of the first five pillar

Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC):
The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-
DAC) is an Autonomous Scientific Society of the Ministry of
Electronics and Information Technology, (MeitY), of the
Government of India.The National Centre for Software
Technology (NCST), ER&DCI and CEDTI were merged into C-
DAC in 2003
C-DAC provides several courses in the field of advanced computing
and software development. Among these are the HPC certification course- C-
DAC Certified HPC Professional Certification Programme (CCHPCP). C-DAC
organises advanced computing diploma programs through the Advanced
Computing Training School (ACTS) located all over India. The PG Diploma
courses include specialisations in Embedded System Design, VLSI, Big Data
Analytics, Geoinformatics, Artificial Intelligence etc. Admissions to all PG
Diploma courses of C-DAC are done through C-DAC's Computerised Common
Admission Test (C-CAT). Every year, C-CAT is usually conducted in June and
December .

Kohli Center on Intelligent Systems (KCIS) :-
Kohli Center on Intelligent Systems (KCIS) was established
at International Institute of Information Technology,
Hyderabad (IIIT Hyderabad) in 2015 with funding from Tata
Consultancy Services (TCS) Foundation to give a fillip to
research, teaching and entrepreneurship in the broad Intelligent
Systems area. Since then, in a short span of 3 years it has evolved to
become India's leading center on intelligent systems. Its
groundbreaking research in the areas of language technology,
computer vision, data sciences, robotics, cognitive sciences and
machine learning has been recognized and commended by
researchers in the world over. KCIS has brought together the sharpest
minds to create India's largest Artificial Intelligence team, and is
successfully taking research from lab to land and engaging with
