 Planning
The success of any work depends on how
thoroughly and systematically it is planned
in advance.
Advantages of Planning a
Lesson:
1. It makes the work regular and systematic.
2. It creates self confidence in the teacher.
3. It ensures appropriate use of aids at the
appropriate time.
4. It prevents wastage of time.
Lesson Plan?

mental and emotional
visualization of the classroom.
• It is the blue print of what a
teacher is going to do.
Functions of a Lesson plan:
It prevents the teacher from going off the
track.
It helps in avoiding needless repetition.
It provides suggestion regarding
adequate learning aids and activities.
It ensures that the teacher does not omit vital
points.
It serves as a check on unplanned
curriculum.
Unit Plan?
“as large a block of related subject
matter as can be over-viewed by the
learner is called unit.”

with predetermined objectives to be

• Unit Planning came into existence as a
revolt against treating a single class as a

It makes evaluation objective based.
It gives suggestion to make teaching
interesting.
It makes evaluation easier.
It indicates the total weightage to be
given for various instructional
objectives,
