ABSTRACT

 The Method of applying flux on PCBs for soldering

was dipping the PCBs in a hot flux solution which
can cause defects in PCBs due to excess flux and
also causes wastage of flux. To avoid this we
invented a fluxing system which spray for applying
flux. In this system the hot flux is sprayed in the
bottom of of PCBs by means of reciprocating
nozzle. This avoids excess use of flux and also
provides good uniformity and through-hole
penetration
INTRODUCTION

 Our project is used for fluxing of PCB. It is an

equipment for fluxing the Printed Circuit Board
(PCB) at low cost.
 It is an sensor operated device which primarily

consists of Nozzle, Reciprocating Shaft,

Pnuematic Cylinder, flux carrying pipe etc.
 This is an easy to use and portable equipment

which saves time wastage, money, electricity &

labour efforts.

DC MOTOR
 This is a device that converts DC
electrical energy to a mechanical energy.
 DC or direct current motor works on the

principal, when a current carrying

conductor is placed in a magnetic field, it
experiences a torque and has a tendency
to move. This is known as motoring
action. If the direction of current in the
wire is reversed, the direction of rotation
also reverses. When magnetic field and
electric field interact they produce a
mechanical force, and based on that the
working principle of dc motor
established.
SPRAY NOZZLE
 A spray nozzle is a precision
device that facilitates dispersion
of liquid into a spray. Nozzles
are used for three purposes: to
distribute a liquid over an area,
to increase liquid surface area,
and create impact force on a
solid surface. A wide variety of
spray nozzle applications use a
number of spray characteristics
to describe the spray
BELT CONVEYOR
 A belt conveyor system
consists of two or more
pulleys with an endless loop
of carrying medium—the
conveyor belt—that rotates
about them. One or both of
the pulleys are powered,
moving the belt and the
material on the belt forward.
PNEUMATIC CYLINDER
 Pneumatic cylinder are
mechanical devices which use
the power of compressed gas
to produce a force in a
reciprocating linear motion.
Double-acting cylinders use
the force of air to move in
both extend and retract
strokes.
SENSOR
 Object detection is a computer
technology related to computer vision
and image processing that deals with
detecting instances of semantic
objects of a certain class in digital
images and videos. Well-researched
domains of object detection include
face detection and pedestrian
detection. Object detection has
applications in many areas of
computer vision, including image
retrieval and video surveillance.
ASSEMBLY
WORKING OF THE PROJECT
 We will take base of steel, and a Flat-Spray
Nozzle will be mounted on it
 Upper part of the nozzle will be uniform so

that the flux gets sprayed uniformly on the

PCB and coveror more area for spray
 A pneumatic cylinder will be connected to

suck the flux from the flux container and with

the help of pipe and nozzle the flux solution
will be sprayed on PCB
WORKING OF THE PROJECT
 When pnematic cylinder starts, vaccum is
created and then flux solution is being
sucked inside the pipe which is connected to
the pneumatic cylinder
 When the PCB comes on conveyer then it is

detected by the nozzle system with the help

of sensor
 After sensing the PCB pneumatic cylinder

reciprocates the nozzle mechanism which is

connected to shaft and the flux solution is
Applications:-
 The main application is for small, medium and large
industries, where Printed Circuit Boards are made as per
requirement

 it is also use full for industries where fluxing and soldering

work is done
Advantages:-
 It is time saving equipment.
 Reduce labour effort wastage.
 Easy to operate so less skilled worker can operate.
 Portable equipment so easy to move at any workstation.
 It saves money wastage.
 It saves wastage of flux solution
 Easy to clean the equipment
Limitations:-
 It is Special purpose machine so limited number of operations
can be done by this equipment.

 Periodic cleaning of nozzle is required

 The cost of the equipment is around 15000-16000 Rs.
