Acid rain
Eutrophication
EU=more trophic =nutrition
Its is a condition where high amount of nitrogen , phosphorous
Present in pollutant get developed on the surface of
water bodies and promotes algal growth in ponds and lakhs.
Algal growth than Badly effects plant and animals species
which causes depletion Of O2 available in water

Or
Excessive richness of nutrients in a lake frequently due to
runoff from the Land which causes a dense algal
growth.
Smog (Smoke +fog)
This kind of smog is caused by the burning of large amount of
coal

Modern Smog
Vehicular emission, industrial fumes that react in the
atmosphere with sunlight to form secondary pollutants that also
combine with primary emission to form photochemical smog.

Mist
Caused by small droplets of water suspended in air . It occure due to volcanic
activity and common in cold air.
Soot (कालिख)
Impure carbon particles resulting from incomplete
combustion of hydrocarbons (wood, oil, coal)

BOD
(Biological oxygen demand (BOD) :
Is the amount of dissolved oxygen needed (i.e.
demanded) by aerobic biological organisms to
break down organic material present in a given
water sample at certain temperature over a specific
time period.
Water pollution
Effects of Water Pollution

 Eutrophication
 Oil spills
 Toxicty of metals
 Acidification
