Access to the areas is allowed only to the Zone’s
employees with passes, or to visitors of the Zone
with a prearranged program and enclosed
passes.
Application to visit the Exclusion Zone must
be submitted at least 10 working days prior to
departure. This time is required to get through a
bureaucratic way - signing the application at all
levels, check the list of those wishing to visit the
Exclusion Zone, drawing up a program of your
visit, and issuing passes for a group.
ENTERING THE EXCLUSION ZONE WITHOUT
PERMITS, PROGRAMS AND GUIDES IS
PROHIBITED AND PUNISHABLE BY LAW.
You can order two types of
tours - scheduled (by
transport of Chernobyl-
TOUR) or private.
Scheduled 1-day trip includes comfortable auto transportation Kiev-Zone-
Kiev.
You can book a trip to the Chernobyl Zone for yourself and your
friends/colleagues on the most convenient date and with the route, which will
include the objects and places you are most interested in.
In the trip you will be accompanied by a professional guide, a worker of the
Zone and an interpreter (if necessary).
"We must give this territory HBO's "Chernobyl" series has reignited
of Ukraine a new life," public interest in the world's worst
Zelenskiy said. "Until now, nuclear-power-plant accident.
Chernobyl was a negative
part of Ukraine's brand. It's
time to change it."
Amusement park
Among the most affecting landmarks in Pripyat is the amusement park,
which local families never had the chance to use since it had only just
been completed when the explosion happened. The Ferris wheel is an
iconic image of Chernobyl. You’ll be able to look around, but with care, as
some of the most contaminated areas in Pripyat are found here.
Duga radar system
Known as the ‘Russian Woodpecker’, the Duga radar system was part of
the Soviet anti-missile network, and didn’t appear on any civilian maps,
though it can be seen from miles around. A visit to the set-up forms
part of many organised Chernobyl tours, and while it’s in a state of
industrial decay, one can’t help but be impressed by the sheer scale.
Red Forest
Located downwind of the Chernobyl plant, the forest received a significant dose
of radioactive fallout, enough to kill off much of the vegetation and turn it a
rusty colour, hence the name Red Forest. It’s not safe to enter, but within the
trees there are many species of animal flourishing including wild horses, wolves,
lynx and bears.
Advantages
• Unique tour programs on demand of the most inquiring minds
and massmedia.
• Absolute radiation safety of the tourists
• Teaching en route essential skills of radiation survival.
Disadvantages
• Some places are still dangerous.
• Lots of wild animals.
• Now tours to Chornobyl are overcrowded, so it`s impossible to dive in
the its atmosphere fully.
Visits to sites such
as Chernobyl are important to keep
the memory alive within our
collective consciousness, but they
do need to be done sensitively.
Exodus helps travellers who want
to visit and learn about the area's
rich history and heritage in a
respectful manner.
