A sentence
• A sentence (una oración) begins with a capital letter.

Do you like hot chocolate?

The cat is black.


• A sentence ends with a punctuation
mark.
• A sentence has a complete thought.

Marks
Declarative
• Declarative or telling sentence ends with a period .
Es una oración que simplemente dice algo y termina con punto .

Today is a sunny day.

I like chocolate cake.


Question
• Question or asking sentence ends with a question mark ?
Es una pregunta y termina con el signo de pregunta ?

Can I go to the park?

What is your favorite animal?


Exclamatory:
• Exclamatory shows excitement and ends with an exclamation point !
Es una oración que expresa emociones y termina con el signo de
exclamación !

Surprise! I am going to Disney World!


Imperative
• Imperative or command, ends with a period .
Esta oración es de mandar a otra persona a realizer algo y termina con
punto .
Go to sleep.

Wash the dishes.
