Overview & Aim
• Community Service Learning Course CSL-401
has been made compulsory for all NUST UG
students (approved ACM 35). In spring 2015
semester it has been opened for all PG students.

• To impart general awareness & knowledge
along with social guidance to develop NUST
students into socially active citizens in line with
NUST Community Service strategy of having a
discernible positive impact on society through
active citizenry

Students should:
1. Become aware of various areas of community
service and of relevant ongoing philanthropic

activities in the community.
2. Develop a sense of responsibility, compassion and
empathy towards the community.
3. Contribute to have a discernible impact on the

• 2nd assignment of 20 hours – community development/empowerment
focused
• Group activities are advisable
• List of sample activities provided for both projects in a separate document
(available on LMS)
• Students are asked to propose their own projects and implement after advisor’s
approval
• Project plan report and project completion report – to be submitted online via email/hard
copy as per the concerned faculty’s convenience by due dates ( one project head from
each participating school will submit)
• Each group has to appear in a viva/ presentation session after the project completion
deadline (the presence of all group members is mandatory)
