Course Objective

• Ability to review the process of involving and


encouraging local community leadership.
• Ability to sensitize about community problems
which could also be a source of business ideas
and opportunities.
• Ability to identify and solve the problems of the
community with the help of society and NGO’s.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
• Community development is a process where
community members come together to take collective
action and generate solutions to common problems.
• Community development project is aimed to provide
solutions to the issues faced by the society.
• Service to society
• Sensitization regarding Cleanliness, Personal Hygiene
& Health Awareness Camps.
OPTIONS PROVIDED DUE TO
COVID-19
Students are required to undergo a community
development project/CDP during June-July 2021 as per
their program scheme. They can complete their CDP by
choosing any one of the 3 options mentioned here.
which have been designed so that all students can
feasibly complete their CDP even in the prevailing
times of COVID-19.

OPTION 1: Projects which can be completed in


collaboration with NGO/local organizations involved in
community development areas allowing physical
reporting so as student can gain real time knowledge
and experience.
IMPORTANT POINTS:
1. The students are required to produce the certificate
from the NGO/ local organizations involved in
community development areas describing the topic
and number of hours the student has worked with
the NGO/local organization to complete the project.
The certificate should be included in the final report
to be submitted by the student, to be eligible for
appearing in the ETP.
2. Minimum number of hours required to complete the
community development project should be at least
30 hours or it should be for at least 4 weeks. 
IMPORTANT POINTS:
Option-2: Projects which can be completed in collaboration with
NGO/local organizations involved in community development
areas offering work from home and does not require to work in
field or in contact with any person.

1.The students are required to produce the certificate from the


NGO/ local organizations involved in community development
areas offering work from home option describing the topic and
number of hours worked by the student to complete the project in
the final report to be submitted to be eligible for appearing the
ETP.
2.Minimum number of hours required to complete the community
development project should be at least 30 hours or it should be
for at least 4 weeks.  
 
Option-3: The students can register and obtain
a MOOCs certification in relevant areas/
topics which are available online, which shall then
be equated to the community development
project. 
Important points:
1.The students are required to produce the MOOC
completion certificate to be eligible for appearing
in the final ETP viva.
2.The student must complete at least 30 hours or 4
weeks of MOOC certification to be eligible for
appearing in ETP.
PROBABLE LIST OF TOPICS
While opting for any MOOC certification, the student must ensure
that the broader area of his/her MOOC topic falls under either of
the following category:  
1. Environmental studies
2. Yoga
3. Renewable sources of energy
4. Sustainable agriculture practices
5. Pollution management
6. Re-cycling/ reuse of waste
7. Social awareness
8. Management of diseases
9. Innovative practices in teaching
10. e-resources development  
IMPORTANT POINTS
REGARDING PROJECT
REPORT:

1. The project report should be elaborative in nature and


should include various aspects like operational cost,
design features, environmental factors and complete
working mechanism of the proposed topic/idea.
2. Students will be evaluated by a panel of experts on this
project idea.

Submission of Project Title

The students are required to submit the following


details with regard to the project latest by May 15th,
2021 to respective School-HOD:
1. Title of the Project.
2. Brief Description of the Project.
3. NGO/MOOC finally selected to carry out the
Project.
