Rose Sutera Sdn Bhd is a company based
in Kelantan and the core business of this
company is batik making. As the business
is growing, the owner of Rose Sutera
decides to start online business to market
and sell their products online.
Suggest 5 appropriate IT infrastructure
components for Rose Sutera. Give example
for each component.
5 IT INFRASTRUCTURE
COMPONENTS FOR ROSE
SUTERA

1) Computer Hardware Platforms

- Computer hardware platform is a set of
compatible hardware on which software
applications can be run. Rose Sutera need this
hardware for work usage.

- For example, computer, network devices,

storage, input and output technology, and
contemporary hardware trends.
2) Operating System Platform
- An operating system(OS) is a system software that manages
computer hardware, software resources, and provides common
services for computer programs. The computer need OS in it.

• Example :
- Server operating systems – Microsoft, Unix/Linux
- Client operating systems – windows XP, Windows 8, windows

- Mobile operating system – Android, IOS
- Cloud operating system – Microsoft Windows operating
system.
3) Data Management and Storage
- Data and storage management including backup/recovery
vocabulary, business intelligence terminology, storage
area networks and database management. Rose Sutera
must keep all data of their customer in systematic way.

• Example:
- IBM DB2, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Storage
Area Network(SAN), Physical Data Storage.
4) Networking & Telecommunication Platform
- To enable networking, internet connectivity, firewall and
security in business. Without networking, there will be a
problem for communication.

Example : Windows, Linux/Unix, TCP/IP or leading hardware.

5) Internet Platform
- A server used by and internet provider to support internet
access by its customers. Internet can be as an online
money transaction platform and can be as a news and
latest event describer platform
