Bind us together Lord, bind us together

Scripture Reading
NRSV : [Genesis 11: 1-9] The Tower of Babel

1 Now the whole earth had one language and the same
words. 2 And as they migrated from the east, they came
upon a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. 3 And
they said to one another, "Come, let us make bricks, and
burn them thoroughly." And they had brick for stone, and
bitumen for mortar. 4 Then they said, "Come, let us build
ourselves a city, and a tower with its top in the heavens,
and let us make a name for ourselves; otherwise we shall
be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth."
5 The LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which mortals
had built. 6 And the LORD said, "Look, they are one people, and
they have all one language; and this is only the beginning of what
they will do; nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible
for them. 7 Come, let us go down, and confuse their language there,
so that they will not understand one another's speech." 8 So the
LORD scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the
earth, and they left off building the city. 9 Therefore it was called
Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the
earth; and from there the LORD scattered them abroad over the
face of all the earth.

This is the Word of the Lord: Thanks be to God

We Shall Go Out (Hymn pg.56)
1. We shall go out with hope of resurrection
We shall go out from strength, to strength go on
We shall go out and tell our story boldly,
Tales of a love that will not let us go

We’ll sing our songs of wrongs that can be righted

We’ll dream our dreams of hurts that can be healed
We’ll weave a cloth of all the world united
Within the vision of a Christ who sets us free
2. We’ll give a voice to those who have not spoken
We’ll find a word for those whose lips are sealed
We’ll make the tunes for those who sing no longer
Vibrating love alive in every heart

We’ll sing our songs of wrongs that can be righted

We’ll dream our dreams of hurts that can be healed
We’ll weave a cloth of all the world united
Within the vision of a Christ who sets us free
3. We’ll share our joy with those who still are weeping
Chant hymns of strength for hearts that break in grief
We’ll and dance the resurrection story
Including all with the circles of our love

We’ll sing our songs of wrongs that can be righted

We’ll dream our dreams of hurts that can be healed
We’ll weave a cloth of all the world united
Within the vision of a Christ who sets us free
Benediction
May the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy
Spirit, be with us all now and forevermore.
Amen.
