SEMINARS AND FIELD TRIP

REQUIREMENTS

IF GROUP WHOSE SEMINAR WAS CANCELLED:
• Each group should organize their online seminar
using meeting apps.
• Each member should attend one (1) online
seminar organized by the other groups.
• If a member cannot attend another group’s online
seminar, contact me for a more challenging
alternative.
• Each group should submit a compilation or
portfolio about their organized seminar.
SEMINARS REQUIREMENT
IF GROUP HAVE ORGANIZED SEMINAR ALREADY:
• Each member should attend one (1) online
seminar organized by your other groups.
• If a member cannot attend another group’s
online seminar and all group has finished their
online seminar already, contact me for a more
challenging alternative.
• Each group should submit a compilation or
portfolio about their organized seminar.

SEMINARS REQUIREMENT
• All groups must submit a digital portfolio as
requirement for Seminars.
• Compilation must be placed on a power point
presentation, then saved to pdf file for security.
• Submit both power point presentation and pdf
file on the shared folder that I will create for
each group.
• The compilation for seminar will comprise, but
not limited to the following:

• Permits
Note:
This is only applicable
for those who are able
to finished their face
to face seminar.

PORTFOLIO COMPOSITION
• Invitation letters to Speaker
• Profile of the Speaker
• Presentation of the Speaker
Note:
• Due to limitations, the speaker may not be
inclined to your designated specialization, but
must be related to civil engineering.
• Tokens and certificate of the speaker may be given
after the ECQ. Hopefully they will be persuaded.

PORTFOLIO COMPOSITION
 FIELD TRIP REQUIREMENT
• As replacement for our field trip, each group will
research on things that are relevant and
interesting to most civil engineers but not
thoroughly discussed in the classroom.
• Each group will pick a topic to discuss and
research on, they will know the in-depth process
of the things related to their topic.
• After their research, they will present their
research to me to determine if they really
understood the topic they are given to.
 FIELD TRIP REQUIREMENT
• After the presentation, we will take a
congratulatory screen shot of the presentation
and will serve as approval document for the field
trip.
• The schedule of the presentation will depend on
the group, just as long as the time is either 9AM
to 12NN in the morning, or 2PM to 5PM in the
afternoon.
 FIELD TRIP REQUIREMENT
TOPICS
• Present how tower cranes are erected.
• Present how formworks are formed and erected.
• Present how reformed bars are made.
• Present the process in building a bridge on top
of bodies of water.
• Present how dams are constructed.
• Present how MS Project is used an is it better
than MS Excel.
 FIELD TRIP REQUIREMENT
TOPICS
• Present minimum of 5 new technologies in
construction.
• Present minimum of 5 new and/or unique designs
in construction.
• Present an in-depth analysis of cement.
• Present the evolution of structure building from
ancient times to present.
• Present the sewerage system and flood control in
the Philippines vs. other countries.
