HOW OFTEN DO YOU….?
*We use frequency adverbs
to describe how frequently we
do an activity.
*Here are the some of them:
The position of the adverb in a sentence

• An adverb of frequency goes before a main verb (except with To Be).


• Los adverbios de frecuencia van antes del verbo principal (EXCEPTO CON
EL VERBO TO BE)
• Example 1:
Subject  + adverb + main verb
I usually drink coffee
She sometimes visits me at home
• Example 2:
After verb “to be” am, is, are. / Después del verbo “to be” am, is, are.

Subject + Verb “to be” + adverb

They are always happy

Tomas is never late for work


EXERCISES: Rewrite the sentences and use the
percentages to decide the adverb.

1. We always watch the news at 9:00 (100%)


2. I take the bus (30%)
3. The car is clean and ready (5%)
4. The brake pedals are too tight (50%)
5. Tomás eats spaghetti for breakfast. (0%)
