This document summarizes interviews conducted with 5 taxi drivers working for Ola, Uber, and private cab companies. The interviews explored the safety, health, and welfare issues faced by drivers. Key issues identified included long working hours without proper breaks, exposure to pollution and vibrations, passenger abuse, lack of food/sleep, and lack of support from employers on medical and accident-related issues. The document recommends steps drivers can take to improve safety, such as maintaining hygiene, taking breaks, and avoiding arguments. It concludes that while drivers must take responsibility for their own health, employers should also provide more support and training on health and safety matters.

Since there is very little concern shown by the employers the drivers need to take care of their health and safety by themselves which is an unfortunate situation. There should have been more focus on driver’s health from their employers. Drivers need to be trained for the health and safety aspect. As customers it becomes our responsibility to treat these drivers with respect.
