By Observing the below plots we can infer


 More than 90% of the sales are from Food, Tobacco, Beverages and Liquor Categories.
 Out of which Food and Beverage contributes to approximately 46% of Sales whereas
Tobacco & Liquor contributes 50% of sales.
 By Observing Total Revenue of sales monthwise, December and January are the months
which is having high revenues. We can investigate further in upcoming slides.
Month Wise Analysis

1. Most of the items were sold in December followed by January. But quantity sold in January
is lower than that of the quantity sold in December.
2. Quantity of items sold gradually increased from June till August and then decreased (this
might be due to the vacation).
3. We can see that TOBACCO contributes the most to the sales even if the quantity sold is
not the highest followed by FOOD.
4. Quantity of FOOD sold is the highest followed by BEVERAGE.
5. We can clearly see that TOBACCO, FOOD and BEVERAGE are the major contributors to
sales across all the months.
Consumer Preference based on Week

Food & Beverages along with tobacco has the highest reference on Saturday

1.We can clearly see that Quantity sold and total sales in December is highest across all the
categories.
2.From February till June, sales of all the categories are low.
3.Sales went up in July across all the categories.
4.Sales went up in August compared to that of July across few categories (FOOD, BEVERAGE and
TOBACCO).
5.We can clearly see a trend across all the categories (sales are highest in December and there’s a
dip in the sales after December. Sales across categories increased in December compared to
November across all categories.
6.On observing the sales data (Monthly per day basis) it is found that Great Café sales went high on 31 st
December 2010 represented by topmost dot and several others are present.
Recommendations
• Sales start at around 9 am in
the morning and peak hours
are 7 to 8 PM in the evening.
• We can observe a increasing
trend from 12PM on a daily
basis. We can call as Surge
time from 12PM which
extends till 8PM.
• Most of the customers are
buying items from Food,
Beverages and Tobacco
between 12PM to 5PM. Later
few customers are buying
Liquor in the evening times.
• There is a dip in business at
9pm in the night being dinner
time. This slot also be
converted into good business
Tax % and Rate category wise

• We can see that Tobacco


has the highest tax and
rate with 49.26% and
45.46% followed by Food
and Beverages.
• Observing the below plots we can clearly say that the rate change has high
impact on Beverage, Food, Tobacco and Liquor categories.
• Quantity and Rate is highly correlated for top 4 categories which are Food,
Beverages, Liquor, Tobacco.
• Few items in all four categories sold even though there is rate hike over the
period.
• NIRVANA HOOKAH SINGLE in Tobacco category has the highest sales and highest
rate hike.
• CAPPUCINO in Beverage category has the highest sales.
• GREAT LAKE SHAKES in Food Category has the highest sales.
• Observing the above plots we can see that highest discounts are given by
the café is for Food Category with 58% followed by Beverage and Tobacco.
• We can also see that discounts are majorly available in the month of
January which can be referred to new year offers.
• The sales are also highest for food category with 38% after the discounts
which is a good sign.

Items which are sold less than 50 qty and has a sales less than 200 can
be removed as they are not frequent items.
Combo recommendations

In simple words, people who purchased Antecedents also purchased Consequents.


For Example under FOOD Category, customers who purchased “ADD FRIES” also purchased
“B.M.T PANINI”. This can be one of the combo meal Item with reduced price to attract more
customers. Business can take a decision based on the lift score which is attached OD in the
Combo recommendations
Observations
• Most customer prefer café latte with vanilla, Irish cream, caramel, cinnamon and
hazelnut flavor with more 20 time than any other customer with more than 60% of
confidence.
• Most customer prefer Kheema ghotala with toast butter with more 115 time than any
other customer with more than 50% of confidence.
• Most customer prefer Saigon noodles with chicken with more 950 time than any other
customer with more than 40% of confidence.
• Most customer prefer cappuccino with Hazelnut or Whipped Cream with more 5 time
than any other customer with more than 40% of confidence.
• Most customer prefer Red bull, Maggie noodles arrabiata with Sambuca with more 8 time
than any other customer with more than 50% of confidence.
• Most customer prefer Red bull with N.R.G Hookah with more 25 time than any other
customer with more than 80% of confidence.
• Most customer prefer fries, masala chai with B.M.T. Panini with more 11 time than any other customer with
more than 40% of confidence.
• Most customer prefer B.M.T. Panini, Red bull with Sambuca with more 7 time than any
other customer with more than 40% of confidence.

RECOMMENDATIONS
• We have the list of items that are being sold together. Start selling the Combo meals
based on the quantity sold and provide some discounts. Doing this will increase the
revenues and increases the customer base as well.
• As per the analysis, there are few items which are generating low sales. These items can
be discontinued to improve the inventory space that is being consumed. This inventory
space can be used by other top selling items.
• As we can see the sales are peak in December. Price of the items can be increased from
1% to 10% to increase the overall revenue. To increase customer base and increase the
volume of sales, discounts can be offered to customers.
• Launch customers loyalty program to offer discounts to customers who visit the store
quite often. Doing this, will improve the customer base.
• Increasing the Price of the Tobacco can give good revenues. Customers are purchasing
TOBACCO even If the price is increased.
• Also, we have given the details of the items whose sales got effected with change in the
price. A clear strategy needs to be implemented to tackle these situations.
• Give Happy hours offer in liquor category to increase the sales of the liquors during day
time.
• Combine the food products with tobacco product with discounted prices.
• Operate the store during morning time to increase the sales and include breakfast items.
