Financial Institutions

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to develop an


understanding of financial institutions and
financial market and their relationship to public
policies and management policies. Included are
studies of market structure, profit strategies,
relationship of commercial banks and other
financial institutions, problems of assets and
liability management, and theory of interest and
asset prices.
COURSE OBJECTIVES:

By the end of the semester, the student will be able to:

• Understand the banking system and financial instruments and


explain sovereign debt crisis.
• Apply the banking regulations and identify the distinction in the
operations of banks and mutual fund and plan a strategy to
stabilize price and wages
• Examine the objectives of banking and fiscal policy and have a
deep analysis on the financial performance of banks and
discuss the role of banks and central banking.
• Identify the kinds of insurance companies and likewise the real
estate mortgaging
