COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course principle of finance seeks to give the students the
necessary overview about the financial system, the practicality in
the field of banking such as the regulatory body and also
elucidate related concepts on the subject matter. The course will
also seek to introduce the students to the international world of
finance and banking.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
After studying this course the learner should be able to
Define and describe the elements that make up the financial
system
Explain the concept of direct and indirect financing.
Distinguish between primary and indirect securities.
Definition of financial instrument and the broad categories of
financial instruments.
Differentiate marketable and non marketable securities.
Outline the participants in the financial market and also be able
to describe the share and debt market, and name their

banking.
