 serves as the nucleus of a consulting engagement and provides a
guide to staff assignment and completion dates.

 provides consultant with an updated status at any point during the


project.

 should be updated at least weekly.

 * Usually begins with an engagement kickoff meeting, which is a key


element in getting the project off to a good start.
IMPORTANT TOPICS TO BE ADDRESSED
IN A KICKOFF MEETING
 Review of the Engagement Proposal – summarize what has taken place to date and as a
springboard for looking ahead to the project objectives and work required.
 Discussion of the Work Objectives – is an agreement on the end results of the project.
 Definition of Intermediate Work Results – serve as the beginning point for development
of the detailed work plan
- Measuring point for progress towards project objectives.
- Serve to break the project up into mini-projects with psychological and
emotional feelings of satisfaction for reaching a goal.
 Responsibility Assignments and Client Participation – it includes general assignment of
duties for project planning and management, project task work and review of project
process at milestone points.
 Project Completion Date – tentative and completion date of the project should also be
taken up towards the end of the kickoff meeting.

Kickoff meeting should end with


a. Review of the decisions and agreement reached
b. Statement that outlines the general steps in the project and that focuses on the
development and presentation of the detailed work plan.
c. Every participant understanding how engagement will proceed as well as his or her
individual responsibilities.

Note: Before deciding on the details of the kickoff meeting, a decision should be made
regarding Time, Venue, Participants and the Agenda of the Meeting.
DETAILED WORK PLAN

 Serve as BLUEPRINT for execution of the


engagement and a means by which the consultant
can monitor project process.
 Shows what the staff would be needed to complete
the project, as well as when and for how long will
they be needed.
 Outline of a set of goals and processes by which
team and/or person can accomplish those goals.
 Provide further classification of how much effort
will be required to deliver the work end product.
