The Tale of Keloğlan and Siri

Once upon a time, there was a king who lived in his huge castle in the

land of fairy tales. The king had a very valuable chest. Inside this chest

there were a golden laying chicken and a magic stick. The king kept this

chest in a room at the top of the castle. And he never gave his key to

anyone, never allowed anyone to enter the room.

Every morning when he woke up, he entered that room, checked his

chest and spent time there.

One day, they heard that, a storm would come ad destroy everywhere.
The guards:
“My king, we need to get out of the castle and get you to a safe place.
The king:
“No. No force can take me away without taking my chest.
Guards:

“But, sir, It is very dangerous and coming so fast.”

Then they took the king out of the castle

to take him to a safe cave not to waste time.

The king found himself in the cave as he was

thinking of his chest.

It was such a disaster that the huge castle was destroyed, the roofs

flew, the houses collapsed, the animals perished. The king, unaware of

everything, spent days in his cave until the disaster ended. The guards

took the King to his castle as soon as he realized that the calamity had

passed. When he saw the collapsed houses and the castle,

the king's eyes were blinded on the spot and then he

was sick in bed. . No doctor could cure him. The guards,

who are very upset about this situation, sent massages

to all over the country.

A decree was issued that whoever heals our King

would receive a great reward. Keloğlan who lived

in a small house in a small village and was deeply

upset about the King. . Keloğlan was a poor child

who lived with his mother, a cow. They made their livelihood by

selling that cow's milk by making cheese and butter and selling it.

One day Keloğlan’s mother realized that the cow is infertile, it

didn’t give milk and they decided to sell it. After that, Keloğlan

took the road with his cat and cow.

They came acroos a dwarf on the way to market. They greeted and

started talking. When the dwarf learned

that Keloğlan would sell the cow, he said that

“I can buy the cow. But I don’t have any money

but I have these three beans. Can we exchange?”

Keloğlan got suprized at first but then he

accepted to sell. When he returned home with

only three beans in return for a cow, his mum got so angry. She locked

him in a room and threw the beans out of the window.

When Keloğlan was looking out of the window desperately, he suddenly

saw that the beans starting to grow up to the sky. Keloğlan and the cat

climbed the beanpole up to the clouds. They saw

the stars there and play together. One of the

stars named Siri decided to join them and become

friend. When they are climbing down, they realized

two shiny chest. King’s chest. They go home and

tell everything to Keloğlan’s mother. They decide to

take the chests to the King.

They went up hill and down dale to reach to the King. They managed to give

them to the guards. When the King saw them, he got recovered quickly and

started to see again. The King wanted to see Keloğlan and his mother. He

told Keloğlan’s mother that “You should be proud of your son. You raise him

very well. I want to give all my fortune to you and if you let, I want Keloğlan

to get married to my daughter. “ Keloğlan and his mother accept and become

verry happy about this. They get schools and

hospitals built with some of the money.

They help the child to grow up in good condition

and shine like a Star, Siri.

They live happily together.
