NEED FOR ETHICS IN HR
HR DILEMMAS

• Right v. Right “Selecting the best option”.

• It’s right to tell the truth, but it is also right


to be kind and considerate of peoples’
feelings and emotions.

• It’s right to apply rules and procedures


equally, without favoritism, but it is also
right to give special treatment to hard-
working, dependable, and productive
employees.

I have communicated with many employees in the company and asked them few questions :

1. What are the responsibilities of the employee and did you ever faced ethical dilemma while
fulfilling your job ?

ANSWER: According to my observation I have came up that as this is an animation


company and they have to complete each shots in few minutes so sometimes they have to
ignore the minor defects in the shots and when workload is high they can not give proper time
to each shot so they lie to the director regarding the shots and give them low quality shots also.

2. Did they ever face any workplace bullying and harassment or ever heard about it
in your company?

ANSWER: even if this company works in night shifts and have good female
employee ratio , they have never faced any bullying and harassment at their
workplace. There is cab facility available for early morning and night shift .

Mobile phone are not allowed and each floor has 2 guards and biometric checking
is there to enter there. So due to all these reasons and due to strict policies of the
company they never faced such kind of behavior in their organization.

3. Did you ever felt that their in unfair or discriminated behavior done by your bosses to you in terms of promotion,
increment, doing certain job or in any other manner?

ANSWER: They said they have never felt any such discrimination because:

1. selection is done purely on the basis of test and interview.

2. promotion is done on the basis of performance of team during previous year and proper test and presentation has been
conducted by the higher authorities , so it is purely work basis.

3. increment is done on the basis of experience and your behavior in the organization.

4. Females are given equal opportunities on the basis of their skills and talent.

So, they never felt any discrimination in the organization.
