Introduction/Philosophy
 In SIPROTEC 4 Protection is combined with Control & Monitoring
Functions

 There remains a common trend to combine control and protection in one

device to reduce costs

 The scope of controlled/monitored items is limited by the amount of

inputs/outputs

 Control Commands can be initiated from various sources:

 Remotely with communication via System Port
 Remotely via communication via (DIGSI 4) Service Port
 Locally via LCD, Keypad and/or Function Keys
 Via Binary Inputs or automatic functions ( CFC )
 There are different types of information with specific properties

Example 1 for Routing Allocation:

Single Point Information “Buchholz Trip”
Task to be perfomed:
 From the device catalogue insert a new device 7SJ632 into a
folder “Module 5C” in the DIGSI Manager
 With DIGSI open the parameter set off-line and open
configuration matrix in the settings. From the information
catalogue insert a user defined single point information (on/off
type) into the matrix of default parameter set of a 7SJ632 device
“Buchholz Trip”
 Edit short text to “Buch Trip” and the long text to “Transformer
Buchholz Trip”
 The information should be routed to Binary Input 10 (H) into the
group “device”, Binary Output 4 (U) and LED 12 (L)

Example 2 for Routing Allocation :

Single Command Without Feedback: “Transformer Fan ON”
Task to be performed:
 With DIGSI open the parameter set off-line and open
configuration matrix in the settings. From the information
catalogue insert a single point command/control without
feedback (ON/OFF C_S type) into the group Process Data of the
matrix
 Edit short text to “CmdFanON” and the long text to
“Transformer Switch Fan ON Command”
 The information should be routed to Binary Output 8 (X)
 The command duration should be a pulse of 1 second and should
only be possible when:
 The device is in local control mode
 No protection function has picked up
