ABOUT DHAKA – THE CAPITAL CITY:
The capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka with its exciting history and rich culture. Known
the world over as the city of mosques and muslin. It has attracted travelers from far and
near through ages. It has history dating back to earliest time. According to recorded
history it was founded in 1608 A.D. as the seat of the imperial Mughal Viceroy of
Bengal.

Star Mosque

Star mosque locally known as Tara Masjid. The mosque has ornate designs and is
decorated with motifs of blue stars. It was built in the first half of the 19 th Century.
The seven Domed Mosque

In 1680 the period of Subader Shaestah khan, this mosque was built. Basically it
has three domes, but other 4 inflated tower of Four Corners makes the name seven
domed mosque.
Lalbagh Fort

Lalbagh Fort or Fort Aurangabad, an incomplete Mughal palace fortress at Dhaka on the
river Buriganga in the southwestern part of the old city. The construction of the fort was
commenced in 1678 AD by prince Muhammad Azam.
Ahsan Manzil Museum

Ahsan Manjil was built in 1872 and standing on the river Buriganga. Ahsan Manjil
stately building offers the visitors a feeling of the life-style of the Nawabs family
of Dhaka.
National Memorial

The National Memorial, Dhaka is an integral part of the Dhaka Tourism and is a major
tourist attraction of Dhaka. The National Memorial in Dhaka is an ideal place to witness
the cultural splendors of the country.
Panam City - Sonargaon

Sonargaon was the ancient capital of Isa Khan’s kingdom in East-Bengal. Panam City
was the center of the upper-middleclass people of Sonargaon in 19th century. Mainly
Hindu cloth merchants lived here.
Chittagong – Gate way to the Bay of Bengal

With a picturesque hinterland of large hill-forests and lakes, Chittagong is a good

Foy's Lake

Foy's Lake artificial lake constructed by the ASSAM – BENGAL RAILWAY in


1924 near Khulshi not far from the Pahartali Railway Station in CHITTAGONG.
Patenga Beach

The Patenga beach at Chittagong is one of the most popular beaches of


Bangladesh, stretching for miles near at the meeting place of the Bay of Bengal
and the river Karnaphuli. Nature lovers come around here to enjoy the scenic
sunrise and sunset.
Sitakunda

In the Chittagong region there are several waterfalls in the Sitakunda hill

The Sundarbans – The world’s largest mangrove forest

The Sundarbans is the largest mangrove forest in the world's. And as it is the unusual forest,
UNESCO listed it as World Heritage Site. Sundarbans meaning beautiful forest is the ritual
habitat of the world famous Royal Bengal Tiger, spotted deer, crocodiles, jungle fowl, wild
boar, lizards, rhesus monkey and an innumerable variety of beautiful birds.
