INTRODUCTION
• Chicken is a type of birds in which a lot of people engaged in
a farming of it. If chicken served well they can uplift someone
life from poor level of life to standard level of life.
• Food and water are the among of important factors for chicken
in order to make them survive, if they will get food and water
in time the production and growth of chicken will increase.
• Automatic feeding system is a system which can be used by
different chicken farmer in order to make chicken reproduce
and grow well. Our particular project aims is to build up the
automatic farming in order to reduce time wasted by farmer to
service those chicken three times in a day and make the
chicken to get the constants food every day.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Chicks feeding process is undertaking in a poor
technology, Manual feeding consume time, and
distributing of feeds is not equal, Chicks are dying due to
unfavorable conditions leading to loss. A lot of money is
needed in employing the person who will take care of the
chicken.
OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
.
Based on the project, the objectives are divided into two
parts which are as follows.

.
Main objective.
• The main objective of this project is to design an
automatic system for feeding and temperature
controlling of the chicken hut.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

• To establish designing requirements.

• To design a circuit that will be able to control the
feeding process automatically.
• To design a circuit that will be able to control the
temperature of the chicken hut automatically
• To design sensing system that will help in avoiding of
overflow of chicken food.
METHODOLOGY
This chapter consists of different steps that will be followed until the
completion of the project
•Literature review

•Data collection
•Data analysis

•Prototype design
•Simulation

•Circuit implementation and testing

•Report writing
PROPOSED SOLUTION
The system will operate according to farmer
economy, a chicken farmer may put a
daily, weekely or monthly food in a container and
the food will pack it self on a feeding container
every day.
THE BLOCK DIAGRAM OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEM
OPERATION OF THE PROPOSED
SYSTEM
• The system consists of a controller unit which
is the central processing unit for the system; the
control unit receives the signal from the input
devices (camera, temperature sensor, Real Time
Clock and level sensor).
• Real Time Clock will starts count and every six
hours to send signal to the control unity for
processing, finally the output of the control
unity will actuate valves and an electric fan.
COMPONENTS OF BLOCK DIAGRAM
Power supply unit
This provides power to all devices which are connected to the system.
It involves the conversion of A.C to D.C because there devices that
uses DC power supply.
control unit
Here is where all controlling and processing functions are done.
• To balance temperature of the chicken hut.
• Transceiving signal to and from RTC which enable the feeding of
chicken three times in a day without human intervation.
• To open or close the valve to control feeding.
RTC
Real time clock is a device used to program the time the device will
provide the signal to the microcontroller which will help the motor
of feeder to revolve or stop
BLOCK DIAGRAM COMPONENTS (CONT.)

Valves
Close or opens to release chicken food to the feeding
container.
Temperature regulating circuit
It includes sensors and electric fans for regulating
the temperature of the chicken hut.
Sensor
This is level sensor which will send the signal to the
microcontroller when the food is fully in order to
avoid overflow
BLOCK DIAGRAM COMPONENTS (CONT.)

IP Cameras
They receive, send and transfer the picture (video
signal) directly via IP networks, thus enabling the
authorized viewers to see, save and manage the video
through standard infrastructure of IP base network.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT

This project will have the following

significance in the society:-
•It will reduce the number of chicks dying
due to unfavorable temperature conditions.
•The costs of operations are reduced and
simplicity of the system.
•It leads to the increase of income.
•The system saves time
Conclusion
• This project will be of great
advantage to farmers and
entrepreneur as they will improve the
income (surplus production) because
all the feeding system will be
automated.
