PROJECT PROPOSAL
PROJECT TITLE: FUEL PUMP AUTOMATION
NAME : ALBERT DANIEL
REG No : 130637443095

NOVEMBER, 2017
The presentation will cover the following;
 Background and introduction to the proposed project
 Problem statement
 Objectives
 Significance of the proposed system
 Proposed block diagram
 Methodology
 Project time frame.
Background and introduction
• Fuel filling stations are consisted of fuel dispensers which pour out the
rated amount of fuel.
• Government of Tanzania and other companies want to make sure that
fuel assigned to a car driver, is sincerely done. Unfortunately, however
other drivers do not take in all the assigned fuel to their vehicles instead
they take into gallons or they sell.
• Fuel pump automation comes with the fact and technology of
improving the dispensing of the fuel to the respective tanks together
with recognition of the served vehicle at instant.
Problem statement
• Fuel management seemed to cumbersome due to wrong doings that are
happening day to day in fuel stations.
• The amount of fuel taken is not as exact as assigned by the government
or other private companies.
• Also there is possibility of taking fuel into other vessels like gallons.
These are problems that result into insignificant money and fuel losses.
Objectives of the proposed project
1. MAIN OBJECTIVE
The main or general aim of the proposed project is provide well-built and
automatic system to monitoring and dispensing fuel to the required vehicle.
The system will also restrict other fuel receivers but vehicle tanks only.
2. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
i. Study and develop subsystem that will restrict fuel dispensing to the
appropriate tank.
ii.Study and develop subsystem to notify the recent car served in the station.
iii.To integrate subsystems to perform main objective.
Significance of the proposed project
At the end of the proposed project, the following will be achieved as the
significances
• The system should be able to permit fuel to be poured if and only if the
container or receiver is the vehicle’s tank.
• The system should indicate the address of the served vehicle.
The proposed system
•The proposed project will be having vehicle recognition subsystem,
control unit, pump to press fuel from station tank to the vehicle tank,
display or personal computer.
•The vehicle recognition system will fetch data to address the recent
served car. This system will be able to indicate the plate number of the
car from the stored plate numbers in the predefined table of numbers.
•Therefore, here car or vehicle and the responsible driver will be
known together with the amount of fuel served.
Block diagram of the proposed system
Methodology
• This is the systematic, theoretical analysis of the methods applied to a
field of study which comprises the theoretical analysis of the body of
methods and principles. Methodology includes the following;
a. Literature review
b. Data collection
c. Data analysis
d. Circuit simulation
e. Building the circuit
Conclusion
•Regarding both general and specific objective, the proposed project will
provide well-built and automatic system to monitoring and dispensing fuel
to the required vehicle. The system will also restrict other fuel receivers
but vehicle tanks only.
