Rhyme is the repetition of similar sounds

in a certain scheme.

• It is the likeness of the terminal sounds of words


Frequently used at the end of a line or within the line.
Types of Rhyme
1. Masculine Rhymes are those in which
the final syllable of the word or line is stressed.

Example : recall - befall


2. Feminine Rhymes are those in which
the first syllable is stressed.

Example :mountain - fountain


3. Triple Rhymes are those in which
All three syllables are identical.

Example : brotherly- motherly


4. Perfect Rhymes are rhymes of differently
Spelled words. They are rhymes of two words that
Are pronounced the same but spelled differently and
Have different meanings.

Example : two - too


5. Eye or Sight Rhymes are rhymes where
The words look as if they rhyme, but do not. These
Employ words that are spelled the same but pronoun
Differently.

Example : bone - gone


6. Slant or Oblique Rhymes use words with
