it is a delicacy made of
spanner crab or red frog
crab, which are
crustaceans native to the
waters of Zamboanga
and Sulu. It can be
cooked with sauce or
steamed.

and topped with ice

Gloria’s Fantasy Island
This is the first and only amusement park in Mindanao. It is
composed of 35 major rides such as choco-cup ride, midi-
flumer ride, carousel, swinger, Apollo, mini train, giant roller
coaster, and other interactive rides.
DAKAK BEACH RESORT
It is a luxury resort that offers a serene scenery
and pristine location. It has a long stretch of white
sand beach, 15 hectares of wooded land, and natural
spring water feeding the resort’s pools.
3003 STEPS TO LINABO PEAK

This is Dipolog’s highest elevation point, whice is 486


meters above sea level. There are 14 stations of the cross
that lead the way up to the peak where a community
chapel for prayer and contemplation can be found.
Festivals
HUDYAKA FESTIVALS
Hudyaka, which means revelry in Bisaya, it showcases the
extreme cultural talents of the locals through agri-tourism
booths, costumes of their fair ladies. And street dancing.
They celebrated it week-long from May 30 to June 9.
KINABAYO FESTIVAL
It is a festival celebrated every 25th of July in Dapitan,
They mainlt re-enact the Battle of Covadonga where the
Spanish forces took their last stand against Saracan
under General Pelagio. The festival also offers street
carnivals and agricultural trade fairs.
PAGSALABUK FESTIVAL
It is an annual festival in Dipolog City, celebrated every
April 22 to May 19. Pagsalabuk is a subano term that
means get togetherness. This festival aims to showcase
the myriad interplay of culture amond Muslims.
ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR
CAPITAL: PAGADIAN CITY
PULACAN FALLS
It is located 12 kilometers from Pagadian City and covers
an area of 400sq. Meters. It is the source of water for the
labangan irrigation system. It is also a beautiful camping
and picnicsite, where currently has a permanent Boy and
Girl Scout site facilities and has been the location for
regional and provincial jamborees.
DAO-DAO ISLAND
This is a well-known local attraction located just seven to 10mins ride
by motorboat from Pagadian City’s seaport. It has a artificial coral
reefs and is ideal for swimming, boating, and fishing. It is composed of
two islands. The bigger one is called Dao-Dao Dako means “big” while
the smaller one is called Dao-Dao Gamay which means “small” Both
places are great for swimming, fishing and boating or just enjoying the
view of Pagadian.
LAKE WOOD
It is a lake bounded by a forested hills and mountains on the horizon. It
was named after General Leonard Wood, the governor of the Moro
Province in 1904, who ordered Captain Cornelius Smith to explore the
inner territories of Mindanao starting from Iligan to Misamis. They
Then stumbled upon a lake, which the natives called “Danao”.
Capt.Smith renamed it “Lake Leonard Wood”. Which eventually
became “Lakewood”.
FESTIVALS
MEGAYON FESTIVAL
It is a week-long celebration held in September that honors the
tri-people settlers in Zamboanga del Sur. The Subanens, Bangsa
Moro Muslims, and Christians. It is a colorful thanksgiving festival
for the rich harvest of crops in Tigbao. It is participated by people
from the Subanean ethnic group. It also portrays unity and
solidarity as it showcases, through street and ethnic dances, the
living tradition and diverse culture of province.
ZAMBOSUR SUMMER YOUTH
FEST
It is one of the major festivals in Zamboanga del Sur. Locals
celebrate it from April 4 to 21. It has two main features. The
first are the summer art lectures and workshops, which are
open to the youth and include dance, music, theatre, visual
arts, and new media. The other features include sports clinics
for various athletic disciplines, which are also targeted for the
youth.
ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY

MOALBOAL CAVE
 It is a cave in Titay for the human face that has been hewn in
stone that can be found inside it.
 This picturesque historical glory, along with so many others, is
what makes Zamboanga Sibugay an off-the-beaten-path
grandeur.
SNAKE SANCTUARY
It is a site in Olutanga island
where visitors can witness
snakes being trained and
controlled by a tribal leader.

It has around 8000 sea


snakes of different
shapes and sizes, which
are taken care of by Noy
Tiro.
SIBUGUEY BAY
 One of the major bays in Zamboanga Sibugay.
 It is a seaside indentation between two capes, which is
ideal for snorkeling, diving, fishing and boating.
FESTIVAL
SIBUG-SIBUG FESTIVAL
 This is an annual two-week festivity celebrated during
Zamboanga Sibugay’s foundation day on February 26.
 It showcases colorful ethnic street dancing with rituals
illustrating good harvest, weeding and healing.
PASALAMAT FESTIVAL
 This is a festival in Tungawan held every January 15 to 29.
 It offers street dancing competitions featuring the
traditional way of holding thanksgiving celebration among
the Subanens and Kalibugans in the locality.
