Jishu Hozen Step 4 involves overall inspection and checking skills. The goal is to operate machines and equipment with accuracy to reduce defects to zero. To complete Step 4, trainees must prepare training modules on topics like fasteners, drives, hydraulics, and electrical systems. They practice machine operation and correct any abnormalities. Operators are evaluated on their knowledge and skills before an overall evaluation of Step 4 is conducted. Guidelines for Step 4 include making lists and charts to profile machines, operators, and skill requirements. Trainees are then explained machine mechanisms and basic faults, and operators upgrade their skills.

2. Exposure & restoration of minor equipment defects.
3. Exposure & restoration of minor Set-up defects.
Through overall check-ups or Inspection.
All above is to see how to operate the machine or equipment with required
Accuracy (i.e. Quality) to reduce defects to zero.
Jishu Hozen – Step 4
For above you have to do following:-
1. Preparation of training modules & manuals for 6 Axis.
2. Preparation for training schedules. 3. 6 Axis are given below. i. Fasteners/ Nuts & Bolts. ii. Power transmission i.e. Drives & Bearings. iii. Hydraulics. iv. Pneumatics. v. Lubrication. vi. Electrical 4. Seven good habits – for Attitudinal change. 5. Practice on machine. 6. Tagging & correcting the abnormalities of JH 4 & JH kaizens. 7. Operators Knowledge evaluation /Skill JH 4. 8. Overall Evaluation of JH 4. Guidelines for JH Step 4 1. Make a list of No of Machines in cell 2. Make a Bar Chart of distribution of cell m/cs w.r.t. category Viz AA, A, B, C 3. Make a List of cell members 4. Make a Profile of cell members according to their age, make Pie Chart 5. Make list of Skills required for making Equipment competent operator. Viz – fasteners, Drives(Belt, Chain, Pulley, Couplings), Hydraulics, Pneumatics, M/c Specific Mechanisms 6. Make Radar chart for these skills giving marks between 1&2 7. Explain cellmembers with the help of maint, all above w.r.t m/c, during these sessions please take the photographs 8. Upgrade operator’s skill in radar chart w.r.t macine. 9. Explain basic faults in that macine & how it can be taken care. 10.Mark Few of the PM check Points converted to CLITA sheet in Yellow colour as a result of training. Now operator has become equipment competetent & macine has completed Step 4.
