Selecting the research problem
The following pointes may be observed by a researcher
in selecting a research problem
1- Subject which is overdone should not be normally
chosen, for it will be a difficult task to get any new
light in such case .
2- Conflict subject should not become the choice.
3-The narrow or too unclear problem should be avoided .
4- The subject should be familiar and feasible so that the
related research material or sources of research are
within one's reach.
5-(the importance of the subject, the qualifications and
the training of a researcher, the costs involved, the
time factor) should be considered in selecting a
research problem .

TECHNIQUE INVOLVED IN DEFINING A

1- statement of the problem in general way.
2- understanding the nature of the problem .
3- surveying the available literature .
4-Develop the idea through discussion.

Review of literature
A search of the literature
is essential before
deciding whether
research has a value to
do, and what the gaps are
that need to be
addressed.
English has become the
common language of
scientific communication
and all researchers
working in the
international area need to
have at least a reading
knowledge of it

Computer literacy has
now become another
requirement, as manual
search is being replaced
by online search.
The role of libraries has
evolved. Modern libraries
are no longer
repositories of only
printed materials. They
normally have
computerized catalogues
of their holdings filed by
subject, author and title

Health problems in
developing countries are
more likely to be solved
by researchers in those
countries, who better
know the right questions
to ask, and who can look
for feasible solutions. For
this, they need access to
the global pool of
scientific knowledge.
